El Dr. N. Chandrasekaran,<\/em><\/strong> MBBS, is one of the world’s most experienced yoga therapists, a Western doctor, international instructor and author. He has been heading the Yoga Therapy Department at Krisnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) in Chennai for over a decade. In that position, he treated more than 15,000 students with a wide range of health problems, prescribing individual practices for each one. Dr N. Chandrasekaran (Dr NC) practised allopathic medicine for nearly thirty years and completed his postgraduate studies in Yoga in 1990. Since 1991, he worked as a consultant-teacher and, since 2001, he was Director of Therapy at KYM. Dr. NC’s experience in medicine and the yogic healing process allows him to practise and present a surprisingly effective combination of Western medical systems and traditional Eastern wisdom, helping people with a wide range of health issues. He has taught numerous international teacher training programmes and continuing education programmes, as well as training many high-level yoga teachers in the specialised field of yoga therapy. Dr. NC is the author of a series of books on the practice of yoga therapy that will become a reference for serious professionals in the field.<\/em><\/p>

<\/p>

Dr. Siddharthan, MBBS,<\/strong> Diploma in Yoga and Postgraduate Degree in Yoga Therapy, is the son and student of Dr. N. Chandrasekaran, founder of Yoga Vaidya Sala in Chennai. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and has been practising allopathic medicine for six years. He learned Srsti Krama Vinyasa (Krishnamacharya tradition) from the age of eight and currently teaches seminars and classes on Srsti Krama on a regular basis. He is also actively involved in the practice of yoga therapy.<\/p>

Dr. Siddharthan is the managing director of Yoga Vaidya Sala and assists Dr. NC in his teachings to Indian and international students.<\/em><\/p>
