Cris Martínez was born in Madrid and currently resides in Biarritz. She discovered yoga as a way to combine her love for mindfulness, nature, and well-being with her professional life in luxury hospitality. Although she trained academically in tourism and developed her career in the Four Seasons Hotels group, yoga became a parallel path that connected her deeply.
She began her formal training in 2020 with the 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Foundation Course at Zentro Urban Yoga (ZUY) Madrid, taught by Sarah Florence and Lorena Coutino. In 2021, she completed 100 hours of Philosophy and Ethics at ZUY with Lorena Coutino and Laia Villegas, followed by 100 hours of Teaching Methodology and Advanced Practice in 2022 with Candida Vivalda and Sarah Florence.
Her dedication to Jivamukti Yoga grew over the years, culminating in the 75-hour Jivamukti Teacher Training in Madrid in 2025 with Rebeca Recatero and Candida Vivalda, and in her 300-hour Jivamukti Teacher Training in India with Yogeswari Azahar and Anna Lunegova that same year.
Cris’s teaching integrates dynamic vinyasa flows with meditation and mantras. She teaches in Spanish, French, and English, offering her students a holistic and spiritual experience that connects body, mind, and heart. Her classes invite presence, compassion, and self-exploration, inspired by the guidance of her mentors and her own path of growth both on and off the mat.
