The heart of the studio, our team
Philippe Beer-Gabel: “Yoga is a tool that should help us see ourselves differently and improve our self-image.”
After dedicating fifteen years of his life to music, Philippe Beer-Gabel discovered a new form of expression in 2009: silence, mindfulness, and a conscious connection with the breath and the body. It was Maranda Pleasant who introduced him to yoga, marking the beginning of a journey that would profoundly transform his life.
He began his training with a 200-hour program in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, and later traveled to Rishikesh, India, to continue his studies at the renowned Rishikul Yogshala, where he had the opportunity to learn from distinguished teachers in the yogic tradition.
His inner journey later led him to deepen his practice of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, studying with internationally recognized teachers such as Bernie Clark and Uma Dinsmore Tuli. It was during this time that he realized his true calling was to teach and share these practices with others.
Between 2013 and 2018, he traveled throughout France teaching classes, workshops, and teacher trainings at numerous yoga studios. It was through this experience that he was inspired to create a space where learning, exchange, and community would be at the heart of the project, driven by the conviction that yoga should be accessible to everyone.
In 2017, he founded Yoga Pop in Bordeaux, a studio designed as a welcoming space where anyone could develop their practice in a warm, supportive, and respectful environment. Together with a team of passionate teachers, he has built a dynamic, creative, and continually evolving approach to yoga education.
Two years later, in 2019, he founded Yoga Pop Formation, a teacher training center that quickly became one of France’s leading institutions, recognized for the quality of its educational program and the exceptional expertise of its faculty.
Today, he leads a wide range of training programs for yoga teachers and practitioners, guided by an approach that is open, rigorous, and deeply human. His school is accredited with the official Qualiopi certification, France’s national quality standard for professional training, enabling it to offer certified programs eligible for public funding.
Today, Philippe is recognized as one of Europe’s leading experts in Yoga Nidra. His teaching seamlessly integrates traditional wisdom, scientific understanding, and a deeply compassionate pedagogical approach, making this transformative practice both accessible and relevant to everyday life.
